One morning, while I was driving to work, I received a word from God. I was shedding tears for I knew deep within me that it was Him. There was an instruction from God that He wanted me to go back to the Philippines. I could not explain my emotion at that time and I didn’t exactly know the reason why He wanted me to return to the Philippines. So, I parked my car for a moment, then called my friend, a pastor from the Philippines.
I had these questions on my mind as to why I will return and what I will do once I return. I kept on praying and waiting for God’s specific instructions and while doing so, I enrolled in Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia. There, I obtained the degrees in Bachelor of Theology in 2016 and Master of Theology in 2018. I never realized that all those tedious studies were part of what the Lord had planned.
In December 2016, the Board of Elders of the Lord of the Nations Church offered me the position as the Head Pastor. I prayed hard to God regarding this because I knew that it would be a big decision to make. My wife and I already had stable jobs from which we were earning a decent salary. My children also wanted our family to live in America for good.
I talked to my wife about what the Elders had told me and about the call of the Lord for me to move to the Philippines. I am blessed to have her as my wife for she supports me and understands my calling. After seeking God, I finally decided to accept the offer. I had this strong conviction in my spirit that it was the will of God.
Back in the Philippines, I knew that the church was going through a lot of challenges. This caused me to kneel and seek the Lord even more. He blessed me with the wisdom to conduct trainings and seminars to equip the pastors, workers, and members of the church.
The church may have faced a lot of trials, but now I have seen the much abundant move of the hands of God in our midst. In a short span of time, God has done tremendous changes in our church. This confirms the mandate that the Lord has given me.
It is a blessing to me that the whole leadership, the pastors, and the members of the LOTN Church have trusted me. Most especially to the Lord who has ordained me of this calling and has given me this awesome mandate, to Him be all the glory!
